True ROAS reporting

The return you can actually bank

Platform dashboards report a flattering number: revenue attributed to the ad, before the costs that eat into it. CRAFTSGRO nets out fees, returns, and real cost data so the ROAS you read is the ROAS you keep - and so budget decisions rest on it safely.

Platform vs. true
Platform-reported
4.8x
Before real costs
True ROAS
3.1x
Net of fees + returns
Platform fees- 11%
Returns + refunds- 18%
Shipping + COGS adj.- 6%
How it works

How true ROAS is calculated

The platform figure is the starting point, not the answer. Each real cost is subtracted deliberately and transparently.

1

Start from attributed revenue

The platform-reported return is taken as the raw input, exactly as the dashboard shows it, so nothing is hidden.

2

Net platform fees

The real media and processing costs tied to the spend are subtracted, since revenue before fees is not revenue you keep.

3

Subtract returns and refunds

Orders that come back are not real return. Refund and return rates are netted so a high gross does not disguise a thin net.

4

Adjust for real costs

Shipping and cost of goods adjustments are applied where you provide them, moving the number closer to true contribution.

5

Report the honest figure

The result is presented alongside the platform number, so the gap between reported and real is always visible, never buried.

6

Feed optimization

Reallocation acts on the true figure, so budget follows genuine return rather than a number inflated by uncounted costs.

Worked example

Platform-reported versus true

A campaign looks like a clear winner at 4.8x on the dashboard. Once real costs are netted, the picture is more sober - and far more useful.

What gets netted out
Platform and processing fees tied to the spend
Returns and refunds against attributed revenue
Shipping and cost-of-goods adjustments you supply
Both numbers shown together, never one without the other
The gap, made visible
Platform-reported
4.8x
Before real costs
True ROAS
3.1x
Net of fees + returns
Platform fees- 11%
Returns + refunds- 18%
Shipping + COGS adjustment- 6%
Same campaign. The 1.7x gap is exactly what you would have over-invested against.
Decide on real numbers

Optimize against the return you keep

See true ROAS beside the platform figure on every campaign, and let budget move on the honest number instead of the flattering one.
